Tiruchi: Air India Express has drawn up ambitious plans to operate 11 transit flights a week linking Tiruchi with Dubai, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Mumbai from May/June.
The airline, which was originally expected to introduce services to Dubai from here, now proposes to operate flights on the Dubai-Tiruchi-Mumbai/Mumbai-Tiruchi-Dubai, Dubai-Tiruchi-Singapore, Singapore-Tiruchi-Kuala Lumpur, Kuala Lumpur-Tiruchi-Dubai and Dubai-Tiruchi-Singapore sectors, sources told The Hindu.
The bouquet of services would make Tiruchi an important hub of operations for the AI Express in the southern region. The airline would deploy the latest Boeing 737-800 aircraft with a passenger capacity of 189.
