Air-India harassment charge will be probed

Mumbai: Air-India will for the first time undertake—in what is being seen as a test case for Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs)—an inquiry against one of its pilots accused of sexually harassing a woman pilot.
A committee has been looking into the charges against senior captain Arvind Kathpaliya since October 2005. An officer from the Sahar police station, where a criminal case of molestation has been registered against Kathpaliya, said, “Along with Section 354 of the CrPC (for molestation), Kathpaliya has also been charged under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989. We are now waiting for the sanction for prosecution from the Union government.”
