New Delhi: Government is exploring the option of setting up a new airline company that would control its two airline companies - Air India (AI) and Indian Airlines.
The move would help government deepen the synergies between the two airlines, while retaining them as independent entities and also their large workforce.
Government sources pointed out that modalities of establishing this single entity is currently being worked out by civil aviation ministry along with the top brass of both AI and Indian.
