London:Air India is set to double its flights to India from Birmingham, as its services from the major west Midlands airport that began last summer has proved to be a major success.
Birmingham and the surrounding region have a large Indian community, mainly Punjabis. From May, Air India will fly six times a week to New Delhi, Amritsar and Toronto from Birmingham, offering almost 1,000 extra seats.
Air India is now the only carrier offering first class seats out of Birmingham.
