Mumbai: Promising highest standards of air safety, national carrier Air India on Tuesday said it has not violated any safety norms prescribed by international regulatory bodies. "Our aircraft and system testing facilities fully comply with the safety standards prescribed by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the Indian regulator.
Our fleet of airplanes meet all international air safety standards...otherwise we would have been asked to ground our fleet," AI CMD, Vasudevan Tulasidas, told reporters here. However, he clarified that the airline's premium International Operations Safety Audit (IOSA) of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) would be delayed about a month as it needs to fulfil some training criteria.
