Mumbai: Air-India Chairman and Managing Director V Thulasidas today said the national carrier would not compromise on safety and declared that the airline had not violated any guidelines or stipulations of the regulatory agency, Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
Dubbing reports in a section of the media as baseless and misleading, Thulasidas said perhaps vested interests were behind all this.
In its quest for safety, Air-India had ordered a high level inquiry into incidents involving its 747 Boeing aircraft operating on Delhi-Frankfurt-Los Angeles route and it had also decided to ground the aircraft.
Thulasidas said the inquiry would be held by the representatives of quality control and technical services department of Air-India, air safety department of the airline and officials of DGCA in consultation with Boeing and tyre manufacturers.
