Aviation panel moots tribunal for arbitration

New Delhi: A high-powered government panel has suggested setting up of an independent tribunal for the sector to address the day-to-day concerns including arbitration issues of the industry players.
The suggestion is part of a report on transforming the standards of India's civil aviation industry prepared by the panel — headed by former civil aviation secretary MK Kaw. The report would be submitted to the government on Tuesday.
"The committee has finalised its report. It includes a proposal to set up an independent tribunal, which can be independent of the regulatory authority that the government has proposed," a government source close to the panel said.
