Kolkata: In a significant move that will provide efficacious medical assistance to patients, the BM Birla Heart Research Centre (BMBHRC) is all set to launch an air ambulance facility.
It is for the first time in east India that such an arrangement is being made. The facility would be made available to its patients and those in Calcutta Medical Research Institute (CMRI).
The emergency situations of patients in locations such as Siliguri, Haldia, Asansol, Jamshedpur and the north eastern states will be met with this initiative of the BMBHRC .
The air ambulance will start transferring patients to the twin centres on 24 April.
The aircraft is equipped with ventilators, cardiac monitors, defibrillators, FFA approved stretchers, portable suction units and other medical equipment.
