Patna: Families, children, couples and hundreds of holiday-makers have been left in the lurch with Air Deccan announcing it would not be able to start its two daily flights from here to Delhi and back from June 1.
About a month back Air Deccan announced with much fanfare to the launch of its flights connecting Patna and Delhi. As per the plan, one flight was to operate in the morning and the other in the evening.
But on Tuesday, a cryptic message was flashed by Air Deccan's Bangalore office saying the flights would now begin operation from June 15.
The fax from Bangalore mentioned of the airlines's inability to purchase its 13th Airbus on time had led to the postponement. "Approximately 350 passengers were booked on Air Deccan between June 1 and 14.We will reschedule their tickets free of cost. They can also get a full refund if they so desire," Air Deccan's Patna airport manager Ajay Kumar Singh said.
