New Delhi: With new management taking over administrative control, Delhi airport is all set for an up gradation. GMR-Fraport consortium, selected as the private sector partner for the modernisation of the airport, took over from Airport Authority of India on May 3. Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), the joint venture company, started its work from May 4.
Though the overall renovation of the airport will take some time, airport officials said some short-term targets have been identified. These include cleanliness at the terminals, reduction of security clearance time, better transportation between domestic and international airports and better facilities for the staff.
The new management will not take total control immediately. In the first month, the management will watch the Airport Authority (AAI) work. From the second month DIAL will work along with AAI. In the third month DIAL will take over completely.
