Levelland, Texas: Two men died when their small plane crashed shortly after taking off from the airport in this West Texas town.
Dennis Michels, 63, of Lubbock, and Anand Paul Quadros, 24, believed to be from India, died on impact Monday, Texas Department of Public Safety Cpl. John Gonzalez said.
The single-engine Cessna 150F was about 300 feet in the air when the pilot reported the engine stalled, Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Laura Brown said. Witnesses told authorities that the plane was trying to bank around to come in for a landing when it crashed.
The National Transportation and Safety Board was investigating.
