New Delhi: The Government is considering a proposal for constructing an International Airport at Halwara near Ludhiana in Punjab. This information was given to the Parliament by Shri Praful Patel, Minister for Civil Aviation in the Rajya Sabha today.
The State Government of Punjab has made a proposal for constructing an International Airport at Halwara airways of the Indian Air Force near Ludhiana. The State Government has appointed a Consultant to conduct a pre-feasibility study of the Project.
Ministry of Defence has already conveyed their no objection to the proposal.
The Airport Authority of India is likely to depute a team of officials for survey of the proposed site.
