Mumbai: Jet Airways is all set to introduce new uniform for its staff including check-in agents, cabin and flight crew. The airline has roped in celebrity fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee to design the cabin crew uniform, sources close to the development said. The Kolkata-based designer had made his debut at the Milan Fashion Week in 2004. Several well-known designers had send their samples to bag Jet’s order, it is learnt.
The new uniforms in the offing will be replacing Jet’s current uniform, which was designed in 1998 by well-known fashion designer Ravi Bajaj. While it took almost a year in executing the earlier order for Jet’s 5500 staff, it may take more than a year to introduce the new uniform since the staff strength has increased substantially, post the Jet-Sahara merger.
