Jamshedpur: Air Deccan is understood to have assured the state government that commercial operations linking the two business hubs of Calcutta and Jamshedpur would begin from next month.
A team of Air Deccan officials met the chief minister Arjun Munda at his Ranchi residence this morning and discussed the issue.
State industry secretary Santosh Kumar Satpathy was also present in the deliberations.
At present Air Deccan is plying aircraft in the Calcutta-Ranchi-Raipur route. “The airport at Sonari belongs to the Tatas. Air Deccan has to take the permission of the steel major and the director-general of civil aviation (DGCA) for starting commercial operations,” sources said.
