Manama: Keralites in Bahrain will benefit from a low-cost service being introduced by Air India from October, a top official revealed yesterday.India's national carrier may include Bahrain for the operation of its budget airline, Air India Express, in the winter schedule, said Air India's regional director for Gulf, Middle East and Africa Sanjeev Talwar.
Air India Express currently operates from Kerala and Mumbai to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Al Ain, Muscat and Salalah.
"We planned to include Bahrain and Doha in April this year, but it had to be postponed due to the shortage of aircraft," Mr Talwar told the GDN from his office in Dubai.
