Doha: About 100 passengers who were to take the Air India flight to Thiruvananthapuram via Kochi were informed it had been cancelled only after they arrived at the airport yesterday evening, community sources said.
Some passengers told Gulf Times they had no prior information on the cancellation of the flight and had come three hours before its scheduled 9pm departure.
When contacted, Air India country manager Debashish Golder said since it was Friday only 45 passengers could be informed of the cancellation. He said a little over 80 passengers were scheduled to travel from Doha yesterday.
Golder said the aircraft was grounded at Thiruvananthapuram following a technical snag and would start from there at 4am Indian time.
