Aeronautical Radio Inc. (ARINC), a transportation communications and systems engineering company, together with its regional communications partner Bird Consultancy Services (BCS), has launched ARINC GLOBALink VHF data link communications at four major airports in India. The companies have deployed new VHF air-ground stations at New Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai airports. The service launch represents ARINC's first GLOBALink VHF coverage in the sub-continent.
ARINC has more than 190 VHF Remote Ground Stations in the Asia Pacific region, providing airline operational communications as well as supporting air traffic services. BCS provides coordination and assistance in the deployment and operation of the four Indian VHF stations, including "First Call" maintenance.
