Chennai: Opposing the Centre's move to privatise the airport here, the Airports Authority Employees Union today said it would to hold a rally here on June 14.
CPI leader and MP Gurudas Dasgupta would be addressing the rally, AAEU regional secretary E R Ramesh, said here in a release.
He said privatisation was being done under the garb that Indian airports were not of world standards.
"The fact that we have entire India under Radar surveillance through state-of-the-art equipment....and a satellite communication facility has been provided at all the major airports, has not been appreciated," he said.
