Berlin: Jet Airways has plans to tap cargo and passenger traffic to continental Europe and the United States. Although its plan to fly to the United States has run into rough weather - the Federal Aviation Authority has not yet cleared its application because of its alleged financial connections with India's most wanted criminal, Dawood Ibrahim - it said that it would go all out to tap cargo traffic to the US once the controversy is cleared up.
Abraham Joseph, the Brussels-based general manager (Europe) of Jet Airways, told Cargonews Asia in Berlin that the airline had a "bright future" in both passenger and cargo traffic. "The cargo sector is a promising one and is inherent with good business potential," he said.
Joseph said Jet Airways would start flying to continental Europe in the early quarter of next year. "We will fly to Germany, France and Belgium. We also hope to fly to the United States late next year," he said.
