Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Association of Travel Agents (KATA) Sunday urged lawmakers from the state to take up with the central government the issue of development of Thiruvananthapuram airport.
‘The facilities in the airport terminal are appallingly poor. Built in 1985, it was meant for about 300,000 passengers in a year. But by the end of the year, the traffic through this airport will exceed two million making life impossible for passengers,’ KATA president K.V. Muraleedharan told reporters here Sunday.
He also flayed the aviation ministry for playing spoilsport despite several foreign airlines waiting in the wings to commence services from Thiruvananthapuram.
