Bangalore: Kingfisher Airlines chairman and managing director Vijay Mallya today made it clear that the company might not wait for the central government's nod to start international operations.
"I have applied to the Government of India to review their five-year moratorium on operating international flights by domestic operators, and hope that the government will consider my application. If the government, for whatever reason, is unable to review the policy, I have made alternative plans. Because I can't possibly keep brand new wide-body aircraft on the ground." Mallya said on the sidelines of the CII India Innovation Summit here today.
About the time frame for starting international flights, Mallya said that the first wide-bodied aircraft will be delivered by the end of 2007.
