New Delhi: Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore on Wednesday heaved a huge sigh of relief after his Olympic quota-winning Perazzi gun was retrieved, a fortnight after it was lost by Lufthansa Airlines on his way back from Cairo, Egypt.
Werner Heesen, the general manager of passenger sales in India and South Asia, Lufthansa Airlines, said the weapon was lying at the Frankfurt customs warehouse and would most probably be handed over to the Athens Olympics silver medallist by Thursday.
Rathore clinched a gold at the ISSF Shooting World Cup in Egypt last month, and with that a quota place for the 2008 Beijing Games, before the gun was reported lost in transit.
