New Delhi: The Government has approved the signing of an agreement between India and the United States of America to enable the Indian Civil Aviation bodies to get American assistance in modernizing aviation infrastructure, technology and training. This information was given to the Parliament by Shri Praful Patel, Minister for Civil Aviation in the Rajya Sabha today.
After this agreement has been formally signed, the respective implementing authorities viz. the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the Airports Authority of India (AAI) etc. would be entering into specific technical assistance agreement with Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) of USA, according to their requirements in respect of areas under their respective jurisdiction.
The USA has already signed such agreements with more than 100 countries.
