New Delhi: Expelled BJP leader Madan Lal Khurana on Monday courted arrest to protest the alleged handing over of 200 million US dollars to the hijackers of an Indian Airlines flight at Kandahar in 1999 by then External Affairs minister Jaswant Singh.
Speaking at a meeting at the Jantar Mantar before getting arrested at the nearby Parliament Street police station, Khurana said, "Singh handed over the money as a Swiss 'currency king' was onboard the flight IC 814 and the money had come from Switzerland itself. He went to Kandahar on the directions of the Swiss foreign minister."
Khurana accused BJP of "double standards" for not taking any action against Singh for the revelations made by him in a recent book of his.
