Jaipur: Facing criticism for a helicopter and an SUV she rides around in, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje will soon be flying in a $5-million aircraft the state government is acquiring from the United States.
The first instalment of $100,000 for the Beechcraft King Air B200, which is expected to arrive here by September-end, has already been paid to the US-based Raytheon Aircraft. Beechcraft is now a division of Raytheon Aircraft.
The King Air B200 has a capacity of 13 passengers and can fly at a maximum speed of 333 miles per hour at an altitude of 15,000 feet.
Two senior government officials are slated to fly to the US in August to take the delivery of the new plane. After it arrives, the state would have two planes and a helicopter in its inventory.
