Muscat: More than 100 passengers on an Air-India Express flight from Kozhikode in Kerala to Muscat spent a harrowing 16 hours (at the airport and a local hotel in Kozhikode) without being able to board the flight, passengers told the Times of Oman yesterday.
Passengers on the IX359 Kozhikode-Muscat flight, who were to fly at 9.10am on August 18, finally boarded the flight, nearly 16 hours after they were supposed to fly. The angry and exhausted passengers were finally put on board a flight, which took off from Kozhikode at around 1am yesterday.
The irate passengers, who literally blew their fuse, after being herded around with false promises, began to take matters into their hands, and barricaded themselves at the final ‘hand luggage’ checking/entry point.
Soon, passengers clashed with the security staff at the Kozhikode airport.
