New Delhi: The ban on entry of visitors at airports across the country was lifted today after a review of the security situation.
The prohibition order, which was in place till Sunday, was allowed to lapse, after aviation security and other officials reviewed the situation, official sources said.
However, all other restrictions like secondary frisking and ladder-point checks and prohibition of carrying any form of liquid, gels, lotions or toothpaste in the hand baggages by passengers continue to be in place, the sources said.
The airports had been on the highest alert level since the July 11 train bombings in Mumbai. The security measures were further heightened after the police and security agencies in Britain uncovered a terror plot targetting ten aircraft on trans-Atlantic flights.
