Kolkata: British Airways cancelled its direct flight from Kolkata to London today. The airlines made arrangements for the London-bound passengers from Kolkata to be flown via Delhi and Mumbai. Though it was officially declared that the cancellation had been made for operational reasons, aviation sources said it was due to the disruption of flight schedules following the recent attempt by extremists to blow up flights from London to USA. The Air India’s Kolkata-London flight was also cancelled today, as per the decision taken by the authorities a week ago.
