Montreal: CAE today reported financial results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2006. Net earnings were $32.7 million (or $0.13 per share) this quarter, compared to $20.8 million ($0.08 per share) in the first quarter of last year. All financial information is in Canadian dollars. Earnings from continuing operations, excluding non-recurring items, were $31.3 million ($0.12 per share) this quarter, compared to $19.9 million (or $0.08 per share) in the first quarter of last year.
Consolidated revenue was $301.8 million, compared to $266.0 million in the first quarter last year. First-quarter consolidated earnings before interest and taxes(1) (EBIT) were $47.5 million, or 15.7% of revenue. Not including the effect of
non-recurring items, EBIT was $47.8 million, or 15.8% of revenue.
CAE won orders for eight full-flight simulators (FFS) during the first quarter. These include one ATR 72-500 FFS and another A320 FFS to Air Deccan.
