Margao: The Dabolim Airport Action Committee has called upon the people to remain vigilant in view of what it terms as the duplicity of the Government on the Mopa airport issue.
DAAC spokesman Radharao Gracias has said that the duplicity of the Goa government and the attempt to mislead the Goan public about the construction of Mopa airport stands exposed in view of the statement by Civil Aviation Minister, Praful Patel in the Rajya Sabha, who has confirmed that the state government has given “in principle approval” for the airport at Mopa.
Gracias further said that the Minister also informed the Rajya Sabha that the Goa government has submitted a techno-economic feasibility study prepared with the help of Airport-de-Paris and IATA/Stup consultants Pvt Ltd, India.
“It is now obvious that the Goa government is merely buying time till after the Assembly elections to hoodwink the public”, he said.
