Kolkata: NSC Bose Airport came in the grips of panic yesterday when a middle-aged man was spotted loitering near its domestic terminal.
CISF personnel noticed Mr Pradip Kumar Sarkar (59) wandering with a bog clutched in a hand, detained him around 10.30 a.m. and handed him over to the Airport police station.
Police found the man was carrying more than Rs 6 lakh in cash and a cheque book issued by a central Kolkata branch of State Bank of India.
Mr Sarkar proved incoherent during interrogation but managed to convey that he lived near the Muchipara police station area.
Mr Sarkar’s brothers identified him and it came to be known that the Chartered Accountant was a depressive and had been missing from his house for the past six months since his mother died.
