New Delhi: Kota Harinarayana, scientist, has been conferred the G. M. Modi award for innovative science and technology for 2006. Dr. Harinarayana's professional career of over 30 years has been dedicated to the advancement of science and technology capabilities of India, especially in the field of aviation, read the citation. He joins Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and K. Kasturirangan who were the previous winners of the award.
After a short stint as Director, Aeronautical Development Establishment, Dr. Harinarayana took over as the Programme Director, Aeronautical Development Agency and was entrusted with the responsibility of design and development of light combat aircraft (LCA).
