Bangalore-based Desk to Desk Courier (DTDC) is foraying into the Chinese market in September. It has signed a service agreement with Hong Kong based Kerry Logistic company, which will be DTDC`s service provider.
This marks the maiden entry by an Indian express cargo company into China. Till now, Indian cargo companies used to operate through a non-Indian multinational partner, who had an agreement with China based companies to deliver cargo.
DTDC had earlier done business worth Rs 17 lakh in the China market via intervention of a third company, said Subhashish Chakraborty, CMD of DTDC. In the next one year, the company targets a revenue of Rs 52 lakh in terms of exports from China.
