Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University eyeing India

Daytona Beach: In an effort to meet a growing demand for aerospace and aviation jobs overseas, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is expanding, with plans to open shop in Asia and South America and boost its operations in Europe.
On Thursday, the school will announce its global education plans, unveil a new logo and discuss construction of a new administrative building at a research park near its main campus in Daytona Beach as a headquarters for its international operations.
The university is setting its sights on China, India, Brazil, Spain and Ireland, where airport construction is booming and highly skilled laborers are in short supply. Embry-Riddle hopes to fill the void by providing faculty and classrooms to teach foreign students how to manage airports and maintain and manage aircraft. Those countries "are going to need people who are able to run a plane," said Marty Smith, chancellor of the university's Extended Campus.
