New Delhi: UAE-based Etihad Airways on Wednesday said it planned to double the number of its flights between Abu Dhabi and India and also fly to new cities in the southern part of the country.
Currently, Etihad operates a total of ten flights, seven connecting Abu Dhabi with Mumbai and three with Delhi.
"We are also exploring the possibilities of adding three more cities from the south," Etihad Regional Manager Asia Pacific Charles Phelps-Penry said , adding the airlines had zeroed in on Hyderabad, Kochi, Thiruvananthpuram, Bangalore and Chennai.
He said Etihad will also look to fly to other destinations in north India, however, not in the near fututre.
Apart from plans to increase the number of flights, the airlines is also in talks with new Indian carriers for an inter-line relationship for selling tickets through each other's network.
