For Indians, visa on arrival scheme in Malaysia

Putrajaya: Tourists from 23 countries can apply for a visa on arrival at Malaysia's international airports from Sept 1 in a move to encourage tourism, Home Minister Datuk Seri Radzi Sheikh Ahmad said Wednesday.
Among the 23 approved countries are India, Pakistan, China, Bangladesh and Myanmar.
He said the visa would permit the holders to stay in the country for one month but they would have to leave and re-enter Malaysia if they wished to extend their stay using the visa.
They would be charged RM100 for the visa and it was not meant for tourists arriving by sea and land, he told reporters after chairing the ministry's post-Cabinet meeting.
Radzi said the government made the decision in order to facilitate the movement of tourists especially during Visit Malaysia Year 2007.
