After the second airport in Mumbai, its raining airports throughout the country. Now Goa would have another airport at Mopa soon as the Centre has accorded in-principle approval for the airport of international standards.
Minister for Civil Aviation, Praful Patel informed on Tuesday that the nod had been granted for the Mopa airport.
The Goa government has submitted detailed techno-economic feasibility study report with the help of Airport-De-Paris and IATA/Stup Consultants (India) to the ministry.
To examine all aspects relating to the construction of the new Mopa airport, the government of India has constituted a committee under the chairmanship of Chief Minister of Goa, the minister added.
