All types of liquids and gels are banned as cabin baggage on board Air-India flights from Bahrain, it was announced yesterday. "This directive is being implemented after we have received instructions from our headquarters in Mumbai," said the Air-India area manager for Bahrain and Jordan M N Naik.
He said the instructions are applicable on all Air-India flights anywhere in the world.
Mr Naik said the 'not allowed' list includes all liquids, gels, or aerosols of any size, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, shampoos, suntan lotion, creams, toothpaste, hair spray, liquid cosmetics and any other items of similar consistency.
"However, these items can be carried as checked-in baggage," he said.
