Chennai: The Department of Posts will soon launch air cargo service to facilitate speedy delivery, Union Communication and Information Technology Minister Dayanidhi Maran said today.
The service would be introduced in the North Eastern States in the first phase and would later be extended to other places, he said after launching the 'One India One Rate' scheme here, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Postal Department's speed post service.
Observing that the postal service in the North Eastern region was not satisfactory at present, he said the air cargo service was being planned to face the challenge.
