Air India's Doha office has asked the air security authorities in India to review their restrictions on carrying goods on board.
The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security at India’s Civil Aviation Ministry has restricted airline passengers from carrying a number of items of common use.
According to a circular, passengers will not be allowed to carry in their hand baggage liquids, gels or aerosols.
They include alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, shampoos, suntan lotions, creams, toothpaste, hair gel, sprays, liquid cosmetics and "any other items of similar consistency".
These goods, even if bought from the duty-free shop, would be confiscated by air security, said Air-India’s manager in Doha, Debashis Golder.
