Bangalore: Emirates, one of the leading Middle East airlines, has been permitted by the Indian government to operate eight direct flights a week from Bangalore to Dubai and vice-versa.
Beginning September 29, the airline will operate a daily flight in both directions from Monday to Saturday and an additional flight Wednesdays and Fridays in a week. There will be no service on Sundays.
The two-way fares range from Rs 14,000 for economy class and Rs 27,000 for business class to Rs 32,000 for the first class.
The additional eight flights from here will take the total number of flights to and for India to 71 from 63 a week, with Mumbai having the major share (19 flights), followed by Chennai, Hyderabad and Thiruvananthapuram (eight each), seven from Delhi and Kochi and six from Kolkata.
