Dubai: A bomb hoax call on the Dubai-bound Indian Airlines flight on Wednesday created panic sending the authorities into a high alert.
The plane was diverted to a nearby air base, where it was searched, officials said.
An anonymous caller telephoned the Delhi office of the Indian Airlines saying some passengers in the Mumbai-Dubai IA 683 flight were carrying a bomb.
The call turned out to be hoax as no bomb was found on the plane after it was thoroughly searched, the officials said.
