Mumbai: Infrastructure major, GMR Group today said it intends to venture into the residential and commercial development space beginning with Bangalore and Hyderabad, before expanding its footprint across the country.
The group is now scouting for partners who will bring in industry-specific skills to the table, company's chief operating officer (property development) V Jayaraman told reporters here.
A consortium led by GMR Infrastructure and Hyderabad-based GVK group had earlier this year bagged the Rs 5,400 crore modernisation projects of Mumbai and Delhi airports.
Jayraman refused to comment when asked whether the group would be keen to take part in the proposed Kolkata and Chennai airports modernisation programmes.
