Chandigarh: To attract domestic as well as foreign tourists & boost up tourism in Northern India, the Himachal Pradesh State Government has planned to run a daily chopper service between Chandigarh and Shimla to facilitate easy access to Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh.
In the beginning, a ten-seater chopper would be pressed into service, and if the idea proves feasible then the capacity and the frequency of flight would be increased. This information was given by Himachal Pradesh Principal Secretary, Tourism Mr. Abhay Shukla who told the Media Personnel that State Government had approached the Central Government to provide financial assistance for this ambitious project so that this project might start as soon as possible.
