New Delhi: Aimed at making Indian airports compliant with the international security norms, a delegation of officials from the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) will visit India in mid-October this year, to inspect the country’s major airports.
According to ministry sources, the team will conduct an audit on aerodromes and air traffic control at several airports, which may include the Delhi and Mumbai international airports.
The delegation is also expected to conduct studies on issues related to safety and security at the airports by screening the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) manuals.
The delegation will submit a list of recommendations to the DGCA. The regulatory authority will also submit a plan and a time-frame for implementing the recommendations.
ICAO officials are expected to visit the country between October 10 and 20.
