Patiala: After five years in Jail, two of the accused sought bail in the Kandahar Indian Airlines plane hijacking case from the Special Court in the Central Jail here today. The court has issued notice to CBI for October 10 in this regard. Moving the plea on behalf of the two accused, Yusuf Ansari and Dalip Kumar Bhujail, their counsel H.V. Rai stated before the Special Court of Inderjit Singh Walia that since the two accused have been behind bars for over five years in the case, they be given bail to help them collect evidence for their defence.
The court will now also take up the issue of summoning of the seven defence witnesses in the case on the next date of hearing, for chalking out the procedure and series in which the defence witnesses, including foreign nationals, be summoned in the case.
