Sepang: Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) hopes to conclude deals to manage three airports in the Middle East by year-end, says managing director Datuk Seri Bashir Ahmad Abdul Majid.
“MAHB is already in India and there are now opportunities for us to expand to the Middle East,” Bashir told reporters at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on Tuesday after a signing of a memorandum of understanding between Malaysia Airports Technologies Sdn Bhd and Cisco Systems.
He declined to provide further details on the Middle East plans, saying that discussions between parties involved were still going on.
Earlier this year, the government of India had awarded a contract to develop New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport to a consortium in which MAHB is a member.
MAHB is also involved in the development of Hyderabad
International Airport.
