New Delhi: The remarkable turnaround in IAF's crash record over the last two years received a jolt on Thursday, with a MiG-29 fighter jet crashing near Ambala, in the afternoon.
Fortunately, the pilot, Squadron Leader V Naik, managed to eject safely after the MiG-29 developed some engine problem around 3.20 pm.
Just like Naik, several workers and a tractor driver at Sadhopur village also had a narrow escape when the aircraft fell near them. "No one was hurt.
The MiG-29 had taken off from Adampur airbase for a routine training exercise and was on preparing to land at Ambala when the crash took place.
