DIAL gets aerodrome licence for operating IGI Airport

New Delhi: Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) has got aerodrome licence for operating the Indira Gandhi International Airport from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
The aerodrome licence authorises DIAL to operate the IGI Airport under the provisions of the Aircraft Act 1934 and Aircraft Rules 1937, the company said in a statement.
DIAL had recently submitted the master plan to modernise Delhi airport to help cater to the growing passenger and cargo traffic to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Airports Authority of India, it added.
The Master Plan envisioned construction of a new integrated passenger terminal to cater to the both domestic and international traffic. This terminal will be ready before the Commonwealth Games in 2010, the statement said.
