The newly incorporated India Infrastructure Finance Company of India (IIFC) signed an agreement with Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services (IL&FS) to appraise and mobilise resources for infrastructure projects on a public private partnership (PPP) basis, reports Business Standard.
IIFC expects to support other institutions on a similar basis as a part of its on-going efforts to develop the necessary institutional capacities for the country`s infrastructure.
Currently, the sectors being actively supported by the IIFC include power, ports, airports, urban infrastructure, water and tourism.
